On Campus Activity Part 2

· There will probably be a lot of mornings that your manager may not arrive at the office until late morning or afternoon.
·We need YOU to step it up while your manager is out.  We are counting on YOU to ROCK the office while we are out advertising.
·In the event of an emergency, know the numbers for your AMs, SM, and DRA for help!
·If anyone from “Officialdom” calls (news agency-paper, radio, TV, or government agency, etc.), we always direct them to our PR Department, Sarah Baker-Andrus: (800) 865-1575; don’t answer any questions.  Still let your manager know who called.

Manager’s Part:
·Active Advertising: Chalking starts at 6AM, tables start before 9 until 2, several hours a day on and off- campus flyering also.  Your managers put a lot of man-hours into campus advertising so it is important that YOU are tuned into taking calls EFFICIENTLY!
·Taking Applications:  When managers take applications at a campus table they give a brief version of what you would say to a caller (don’t worry, it’s scripted) and the person fills out the application right there.  Then they are scheduled for a full interview back at the office.  Please note that for High School on-campuses, your manager doesn’t schedule them for an interview while on campus.  He/she brings the applications back to the office.
·Interviewing at the campus:  Some managers will run the long interview at the campus.  This is usually for schools that are over an hour away from the office.  The interview is the same as at the office but it takes place at the school.
·Handing applications to receptionists immediately! Your manager SHOULD hand you the on-campus applications as soon as he/she walks into the door from the on-campus so you can make reminders for interviews and make sure everyone is in the VectorLive system.  If your manager forgets to give them to you, ASK FOR THEM!  You are a HUGE part of the success of the on-campus.
·Communicating On-Campus Schedule: Your manager should communicate to you his/her on campus schedule in advance, but if they forget, don’t be afraid to ask.

On Campus Activity

From Ryan Long, SW Campus Relations Manager

Fall is a  GREAT time of year for us because we get to “fish in a barrel” for recruits.  You all know that we generally work with students.  What better place to find students than school???
Why?
·It is very important for students to come in NOW to start earning for the winter break.
·It REALLY is in their best interest to come in now before they “get settled” to maximize their earning potential and the opportunity- the need to settle into class AND working, not class WITHOUT working.
Where?
·Your managers will advertise at Universities, Community/Junior Colleges, Technical schools, Beauty schools, sometimes high schools, alternative schools.
·They will be putting flyers on cars, flyers in-hands on campus, putting up posters, write small ads on chalkboards, place ads in college papers, and set up tables on campus where students can fill out applications right there and scheduled for interviews.
Ad Sources
·Because SO MANY types of advertising will be used it is SUPER IMPORTANT that YOU assign proper ad sources on VectorLive.
·Data on VectorLive must be accurate- if we don’t keep accurate stats it can affect ad $$ that managers get from the company, stats for advertising at schools in the future, what advertising is worth our time and money and what is not.
·Distinguishing between flyers – on an off campus- is very important.  Simply ask the caller where they got their flyer or where their car was when they got the flyer. Don’t put words in their mouths.

Go to the Video Page (see link on right) and watch/re-watch video on ad sources.

Don't forget about the "They're Here" Show contest!

Hello RAs

Welcome to our first ever region blog dedicated to you, our recruiting assistants!  Here I hope to create a community where we can learn from each other, where you have access to files and videos to improve your skills, or seek help.  I  even plan on adding a section called, “Are you Serious!?”  where you can come and have a laugh at some of the outrageous things our applicants say.
